    Bob,

Hmmm. . .just noticed. The handgrips are also incorrect. I believe the ones you have may have come stock on the later CB/CL series. Not a big deal, but if you check around you can probably find the correct ones. IMO this is one of the prettiest bikes Honda ever made. Thanks for posting.

Looks to me like this is actually a 1967 model. I have both ’65 and ’67. The earlier model has a curved intake manifold and the carb mounts slightly off-center. Also, the rear shocks are on backwards.

A little over-the-top on the bench-grinder polishing, but that’s typical. Hard to resist polishing until aluminum looks like chrome, but I’ve found it’s best to stop with the coarse black compound and leave a satin finish. These bikes never looked that good even new. Otherwise, lovely bike!

@fluxstringer those badges came like that originally on that model, do your home work he obviously did…..

  4. fluxstringer says:

Yeah, he has ‘em both on backwards ! Not just two left handers like I thought might be the case. Cheez ! I wonder if he did it just to see if anyone would notice. Honda lovers sure would. Someone keep him away from the Super Hawks ! !

  5. fluxstringer says:

I used to assemble these out of the crate and test ride them. In the Winter we used to race them inside the shop ! fun to ride is an understatement.

  6. fluxstringer says:

Maybe he only has two left handers ? I’ll have to look.

  9. Nigman8000 says:

ha, yeah, they are on backwards!

  10. spargett says:

Beautiful restoration, but it looks like he has the badges on backwards.

This guy leaves a lot of things out like changing the exhaust and shaving the weight makes this thing the highest power to weight ratio in the world for any vehicle! The breaks are the smallest most powerful in the business, the slipper clutch is the standard and so is the electric dampener. In 08 the Honda set the world record for 0-60 and 1/4 times for production bikes. I have been riding for 22 years and I do so professionally. The Honda is the all around standard now!

i love mine, its does great at Borrego Springs. i threw some 55′s on it and it leaned over like a champ.

which is the fastest in order from fastest to slowest (cbr 1000rr) (r1) (gsxr1000) or (zx10r)?

  14. AJballer says:

Do these really handle relatively like a 600? I’ve heard that alot and didn’t believe it, I’ve ridden an ’04 R1, 05 Gixxer 1K, and 07 1000RR and none of those felt anything like a 600, well the R1 felt the smallest and lightest. But after hearing these weigh under 440lbs, it’s believable since the 2004 model 600′s weighed about the same. I’d love to ride one of these, but no one around here has one.
